LEARN MORE ABOUT US:

Sycamore Station, located in Kirkwood, PA, began in 2007 as the joint vision of Babsi Neidhardt-Clark and Martha Thomas.  Recognizing a shared love of horses, and a talent for matching riders with a well-suited equine partner, they began traveling to beautiful Denmark and importing and training Danish Warmbloods.  The result has been a successful business and the satisfaction of fulfilling the dreams of other riders. For many customers, the trip itself has proven to be a valuable learning experience. Today we have had the joy of matching over 50 horses and riders.

BABSI NEIDHARDT-CLARK

Picture
Babsi Neidhardt-Clark is an FEI Bronze, Silver, and Gold medalist. Babsi has more than 30 years experience training and teaching.  A very well-rounded rider, she has ridden at the top levels of 3 disciplines: Jumping, Eventing, and Dressage.  Currently she is competing at the FEI level on 2 of her own horses:  Largos Row and Ca'no (barn name Joey).

Babsi and her husband Rick own Colourfields, a breeding, training, and sales farm located in Kirkwood, PA amidst the rolling farmland of beautiful Lancaster County.

Colourfields is home to the well-known and talented stallion R. Johnson.  Owned by Babsi since she imported  as a 3 year old, Johnson has produced many winning offspring who have excelled as Show jumpers, Eventers, Hunters, and Dressage horses.  Now 31, Johnson enjoys a wonderful retirement.

MARTHA THOMAS

Martha Thomas is also an FEI Silver medalist.

Martha has been riding and (now occasionally) teaching Dressage for the last 15 years.  Originally taking in retired race horses and re-schooling them for other disciplines, and teaching children the joy of riding, she made the transition to Warmbloods, and began to concentrate solely on Dressage. Furthering her education, she began taking lessons from Babsi.

Martha and Babsi formed the business of Sycamore Station, LLC in 2007 and began importing and training Danish Warmbloods. Martha has a wonderful imported gelding, Gajrus and a home bred mare (an R. Johnson) named Remember that she enjoys training.

Martha and her husband Daryl own Lakewood Stables, a training facility just a few miles down the road from Colourfields where Babsi heads the training program while Martha tends to the care of the facility and the horses in training there, and enjoys managing the office.
